We are thrilled to announce that work has begun on developing our camping park!
The first phase involves constructing the ablution block, which will feature:
- 4 spacious family bathrooms with showers, vanities, and toilets.
- 1 family bathroom with a bath, vanity, toilet, and baby changing station.
- 2 additional toilets.
- A fully equipped laundry room.
- A scullery area for dishwashing.
- A designated area for flushing portable toilets.
Additionally, 12 camping stands will be arranged in a horseshoe shape around the front of the ablution block.
These stands are thoughtfully positioned to minimize disruption to the flora, while providing ample privacy and shade.

Media Statement – 2024/10/22
In a tragic incident in the early hours of Sunday 20 October 2024, one of the chalets at Thaba Thipa burned down. Two of the four people that stayed in the chalet for the weekend, survived the fire with minor injuries, but two people did not survive the tragic incident. The community’s firefighting team were on the scene within minutes after the fire was reported. They were able to
contain the fire and prevented the spread of the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown and is being investigated by the police’s forensic investigation team.
In protection of personal information, the names of the four people involved in the incident cannot be revealed at this point in time. The management of Thaba Thiba is deeply saddened by the incident and our heartfelt condolences and prayers are with the family and loved ones. We are in continuous contact with the families involved. A gathering of family members and close friends took place on site on the afternoon of Sunday 20 October for closure purposes as per the guests and their families’ culture.
